10-rater to the Length and Sail Area Rule

Aphrodite
A 10-rater of slightly eccentric style, with several elements of scale practice, rather than an out and out racing model. Date uncertain, but probably 1920s. She was designed as two separate fore and aft halves which were held together by the fin installation and bolts through the bulkheads of the two halves.

She is seen here being sailed in her original condition and close to sinking. She was subsequently taken in hand by a VG member and permanently joined together in the course of restoration.
